Ingredients
  • Snake Gourd - 1 chopped finely
  • Channa dhal-1/4 cup
  • turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  • small Onion/shallots - 6 to 8 chopped finely
  • Sambar Powder - 2 tsp or to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • For Seasoning:
  • Oil - 4 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few

Snake gourd stir fry/Pudalangai poriyal is a very easy to make and it is a healthy dish that can be prepared in less minutes.Snake Gourd is a very nutritious vegetable and it had lot of fibres in it.

Directions

 

  • Soak the channa dal in warm water for 30 minutes or more.
  • In a pan add the channadal and water and cook it till done.
  • Add chopped pudalangai.
  • Add turmeric powder and required salt 
  • cook it till the water evaporates.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and allow to crackle and also add curry leaves.
  • Add chopped shallots.
  • Add the cooked pudalangai and stir well.
  • Add sambar powder and saute well.
  • Add grated coconut and mix well.
  •  Pudalangai poriyal is ready.
  • Serve with rice and curry of your choice.
